To multiply fractions together you times the top and bottom numbers together and simplify:
(12*5)/(25*18) = 60/450

Then to simply you find a common number, the largest number you can divide into 60 and 450 and still be left with a interger (whole number), in this case it is 30. Then you divide the top and bottom by it:
(60/30)/(450/30) = 2/15

Hope this helps! :)

At a pizza Parlour, you can order single, double, triple cheese in the crust. You also have the option to include ham, olives, p
ki77a [65]

Answer:

381 different types of pizza (assuming you can choose from 1 to 7 ingredients)

Step-by-step explanation:

We are going to assume that you can order your pizza with 1 to 7 ingredients.

  • If you want to choose 1 ingredient out of 7 you have 7 ways to do so.
  • If you want to choose 2 ingredients out of 7 you have C₇,₂= 21 ways to do so
  • If you want to choose 3 ingredients out of 7 you have C₇,₃= 35 ways to do so
  • If you want to choose 4 ingredients out of 7 you have C₇,₄= 35 ways to do so
  • If you want to choose 5 ingredients out of 7 you have C₇,₅= 21 ways to do so
  • If you want to choose 6 ingredients out of 7 you have C₇,₆= 7 ways to do so
  • If you want to choose 7 ingredients out of 7 you have C₇,₇= 1 ways to do so

So, in total you have 7 + 21 + 35 + 35 + 21 +7 + 1 = 127  ways of selecting ingredients.

But then you have 3 different options to order cheese, so you can combine each one of these 127 ways of selecting ingredients with a single, double or triple cheese in the crust.

Therefore you have 127 x 3 = 381 ways of combining your ingredients with the cheese crust.

Therefore, there are 381 different types of pizza.

A business uses straight-line depreciation to determine the value y of an automobile over a 5-year period. Suppose the original
Elena-2011 [213]

For this problem. it is found that:

a) The automobile has depreciated 75% in 5 years.

b) The value of the automobile was reduced by $10,500 in five years.

c) The linear function is: s(t) = 14,500 - 2,100t.

<h3>What is a linear function?</h3>

A linear function is modeled by:

y = ax + b

In which:

  • a is the slope, which is the rate of change, that is, by how much y changes when x changes by 1.
  • b is the y-intercept, which is the value of y when x = 0, and can also be interpreted as the initial value of the function.

From the problem, we have that:

a) The automobile has depreciated 75% in 5 years, as 4000/14500 = 0.25, and 100% - 25% = 75%.

b) The value of the automobile was reduced by $10,500 in five years, as 14500 - 4000 = $10,500.

For the linear function, we have that:

  • The initial value is b = 14500.
  • The slope is of a = -10500/5 = -2100.

Hence the linear function is: s(t) = 14,500 - 2,100t.

Jan is 2/3 of Karyn's age. Jan's age 8 years ago is 2/5 of Katyn's age 4 yeats from now. Jan is how many younger than Karyn?
Elden [556K]

Answer:

12 years younger.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Jan's age be J and Karyn's age be K.

J= \frac{2}{3}  K

Jan's age 8 years ago is 2/5 of Karyn's age 4 yeaRs from now.

J-8 = \frac{2}{5} (K+4)

=> (\frac{2}{3} - \frac{2}{5} ) K = \frac{8}{5} + 8

=> 4K = 48 X 3

=> K= 36.

=> J= 24.

So Jan is 12 years younger.
