The correct answer is B) As trade expanded to cover greater distances, a unit of exchange became more important.

A money economy began to replace the barter economy in the High Middle Ages and trade expanded to cover greater distances, a unit of exchange became more important.

In the economy of the Middle Ages, money represented the way to trade based on similar values for goods that beforehand, were bartered according to necessities.

As trade expanded to cover greater distances, the unite of exchange became the more precise way to exchange for goods, animals, minerals, vegetables, and other products. It was easier to handle for both parties that agreed on the value of things.

The other options of the question were a) as wars halted trade, merchants found new work metalsmithing or creating coins, c) Eastern merchants banded together to reject the barter economy in Europe, and d) Western merchants were no longer willing to negotiate trade agreements with Eastern nations.

What is the central idea of courage in Denmark: Resistance to the Nazis in WWII?
Verdich [7]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Although there are no options attached we can say the following.

The central idea of "Courage in Denmark: Resistance to the Nazis in WWII" is that Denmark was the following.

The only nation captured and occupied by the German Army that resisted, by all means, the attempts of the Nazi troops to deport D*nish Jews to take them to concentration camps.

D*nish people were so brave, knowing that they were risking their own lives providing shelter to Jewish people, knowing that this could represent a major punishment, including death.

Let's remember that during the Holocaust years in World War II, the Nazis persecuted Jewish people to send them into concentration camps to later kill them in the gas chambers.

Countries such as Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark always maintained a foreign policy of neutrality, never taking the side to support the Germans or the western allies.

Why did a Cold War exist?
Gekata [30.6K]
The Cold War existed as a response of the Western capitalist countries of Europe and the US and Canada to the threat they considered the Soviet Union posed to their economic and political interests both in Europe and also throughout the world. They felt this threat from the Eastern European countries that were invaded by the Soviet Union in their drive to defeat Hitler. After the war many of these countries like Romania, Czechoslovakia etc had socialist governments like the Soviet Union and were considered part of the Soviet sphere of influence. Eastern and Western Germany divided by the Berlin Wall were symbolic of this division. After the WWII and also the death of Stalin, there was major contention between what came to be known as the two world superpowers, the US and the Soviet Union and there was a near nuclear war over for example the US stopping the installation of missiles in Cuba in the early '60's.
