He was also an opponent of the Vietnam War, and the main organizator of the Vietnam Day Committee. During the last years of his life he dealt with multi-level marketing mainly in the field of the healthy food market. He died in a Los Angeles hospital on March 20, 1994, after injuries sustained in a car accident. The funeral was held at Hillside Memorial Park.
