What characteristics of watson and crick made others think they would never succeed?
vitfil [10]
The story between the two pairs of scientists, Watson and Crick, who discovered just one of "the most important molecule in the history" is a series of ups and downs. They are an unlikely pair and they had difficulty in unraveling the molecule because neither are that much knowledgeable on structural chemistry.

Explain how the dna standard (also called a ladder) is like a "control."
Marizza181 [45]

DNA standard is like a control because it helps to identify the weight of the unknown samples run on electrophoresis gel. It helps to compare the bands of the unknown sample with its own band positions, and we can get the relative weight. DNA ladder consist of many bands whose sizes are known already, so that they can help to find the size of the sample DNA.

Also, a DNA ladder can't be altered during the process of running the DNA in electrophoresis gel.

Tall plants are dominant over short plants. One parent is homozygous dominant and the other is heterozygous for plant height.
Greeley [361]

Answer:

a. all tall

Explanation:

If genotypically one of the parents is homozygous dominant and another one is heterozygous for plant height then phenotypically all their progeny will be tall.

Let us suppose, 'T' represents dominant allele and 't' represents recessive allele. Then the genotype of one parent who is homozygous dominant will be TT and genotype of another parent  who is heterozygous will be Tt.

The cross is depicted in the attachment.

Here it may also be noted that genotypically two of the progeny will be homozygous dominant while two of the progeny will be heterozygous but phenotypically all the progeny will be 'tall'.
