The east the escarpment is a rainy cliff, of about 300 feet in length and is located in the Llano and the red plains of Texas, and on the western side lies the Mescalero Escarpment which is divided by the eastern edge of the Pecos River valley.
The economy of the Llano is predominantly agrarian and cattle ranching is common. And oil and gas production is also found. The total area of this plain tableland is about 97,000 km square.
