First you multiply both sides by -4.

(y + 12) * (-4)
___________ = 5 (-4)
         -4

then you should simplify.

y + 12 = -20

subtract 12 from both sides to isolate the y.

y + 12 - 12 = -20 -12

-20 minus 12 is -32.

y = -32.

-hope this helps!<span />

The equation of a circle is given below.
sergeinik [125]

Answer:

Center is (-12,9)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Equation of a circle is (x+12)^2+(y-9)^2=35

To find: center of the circle

Solution:

A circle is a locus of all points which are at equidistant from the fixed point (center).

Equation of a circle is of form (x-a)^2+(y-b)^2=r^2 where (a,b) represents center of the circle and r denotes radius of the circle.

Given equation is (x+12)^2+(y-9)^2=35

\left [ x-(-12) \right ]^2+(y-9)^2=35

Compare this equation with (x-a)^2+(y-b)^2=r^2

Center is (a,b)=(-12,9)
