Abigail adams wrote a letter to her husband John Adams just before he helped Thomas Jefferson to compose the declaration of indepence. In the letter she wrote "remember the ladies". What she was trying to say was that women should play a vital role in the development of this new world, and that women's rights should be expanded. during this next hundred years many famous women would come forth and take a stand for womens rights such as Susan B. anthony who is credited as the mother of modern feminism and women's rights.
