A dependent clause of a statement is the part of the statement that cannot stand alone, or in other words, form a grammatically correct sentence on its own. In thee sentence: "Even if she saved for ten years, she would not have enough money to buy her dream house." the first part of the sentence "Even if she saved for ten years" is the dependent clause. 
Unlike the other half of the statement, "she would not have enough money to buy her dream house" can stand on its own whereas the other does not complete a full thought.
