Amino acids are molecules that have a carboxylic acid group and an amine, attached to a specific carbon atom known as the α carbon. There are 20 amino acids, and they are different from each other, in the sense that each has a different side chain, known as the R-group and this R-group is attached to the α carbon.

Why does the earth have different layers?
Aliun [14]

Answer:

The earth has different layers because as it formed, the lighter parts (like continental crust) floated to the surface, and the really heavy parts (like iron and nickel in the core) sank to the middle. It is just like when you mix oil and water: the oil will float to the surface because it is lighter (or less dense) than the water.

Read and analyze the Ecosystem Response section and list the negative feedback mechanisms that keep the bay ecosystem above its
Bess [88]

Answer:

Increase occurs in fresh water input.

Decrease occurs in the salinity of the bay.

Explanation:

The low rate of fresh water input and the presence of high amount of salts in water decreases the population of producers such as grasses in bay ecosystem. Due to this decrease, the population of the marine animals decreases due to the low availability of food for herbivorous organism that lives in the bay. The negative feedback mechanisms will be achieved if increase occurs in fresh water input and decrease occurs in the salinity of the bay.

The transformation and transport of substances though parts of Earth's system are known as biogeochemical cycles. What elements
nirvana33 [79]

Water, Carbon, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Sulfur cycles

Explanation:

The movement and transformation of certain materials through parts of the earth's system known as the biogeochemical cycle involves the following compounds and elements: Water, carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and sulfur.

  • The cycle illustrates that the earth is indeed a closed system based on the circulation of these matter.
  • It involves the movement of compounds from living and non-living component of earth.
  • All of the components of the cycles are important to life and helps to sustain living.
