The United Kingdom is credited with the origination of the Industrial Revolution. The place was ideal because just before this it had faced an Agricultural Revolution. Another reason was that all the technical processes invented and the machines developed were done by the British. The time period of this revolution was 1760 to 1820-40. By the 19th century, it had spread across Europe, with mechanised processes replacing manual labour and hand made things even in France.
