The most often-quoted statement of Kennedy's speech is: <em>"Ask not what your country can do for you, rather, as what you can do for your country,"</em> . He saw america as a miracle that every citizen should be glad and thankful for living in it. Kennedy launched the Peace Corps in order to spread American values and improvement to the developing world. In the mind of Kennedy, it was important to send humanitarian aid as well as military aid to the developing world.
