We can solve it by Pythagoras Theorem:

C² = 4² + 3²

√(C)² = √(4² + 3²)  note: the rootsquare cancels the power.

C = √(16 + 9)

C = √25

C = 5

Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

Morning Rate = 3 pints/4 minutes

Afternoon Rate = 2 pints/3 minutes

Lets find the rate in pints per  hour for each. (Remember, 60 minutes in an hour). Let x be number of pints

Morning Rate = \frac{3}{4}=\frac{x}{60}\\4x=3*60\\4x=180\\x=\frac{180}{4}\\x=45

Afternoon Rate = \frac{2}{3}=\frac{x}{60}\\3x=2*60\\3x=120\\x=\frac{120}{3}\\x=40

Morning Rate = 45 pints/hr

Afternoon Rate = 40 pints/hr

The difference is 5 pints/hr
