César Chavez (1927-1993) was a Mexican American labor leader that always fought to support the rights of the farmers and other workers. He organized protests, marches and other non-violent demonstrations. He called for boycotts in many factories and even he went of hunger strikes to support worker's protests. In 1972, the AFL-CIO accepted the United Farm Workers Union as a permanent member.
