10x+3y, you simply add together things with the same variable (ei. X and Y)

We can't solve this expression because we do not know what x and y are suppose to be equal to. Instead we can only simplify it. And in this case, it is very easy. Just combine like terms. This means if two terms have the same variable then you can add or subtract them together.

8x + 3y + 2x

The 8x and 2x terms are like terms. So we can add them together.

8x + 3y + 2x = 10x + 3y

So, 10x + 3y is the most simplified version of 8x + 3y + 2x.

I hope this helped you understand about simplifying expressions. If this answer confusing just drop me a DM explaining what is confusing.

2. Solve for x. Round answer to the nearest tenth. *
slavikrds [6]

Answer:

x ≈ 7.4

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the cosine ratio in the right triangle

cos22° = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} = \frac{x}{8}

Multiply both sides by 8

8 × cos22° = x, thus

x ≈ 7.4 ( to the nearest tenth )

16-25(b+3) square
Andre45 [30]
Since 16 and 25 are perfect squares you can factor the first part.
4^2-5^2(b+3)^2
=(4-5(b+3))(4+5(b+3))
=(4-5b-15)(4+5b+15)
=(-11-5b)(19+5b)

Which can be expanded if necessary,
= -209+150b-25b^2

Answer:

$5.67

Step-by-step explanation:

All you have to do is 17 divided by 3 to figure out how much it costs for one hour, that equals 5.666, but you have to round it to the nearest cent, which equals 5.67. ;)
