The purpose was to coordinate all articles and information that pertained to the war efforts.

The Office of War Information was created in June 1942 as a response to the attacks to Pearl Harbor. The Office main purpose was to be responsible for the propaganda and any war information of activities at home and overseas. The Office produced radio broadcasts, newspapers, photographs, films and other types of media.
