How did the New Deal programs differ from president Hoover's attempt tom combat the depression?

The difference is that Roosevelt was ready to do more to solve the problems brought about by the Great Depression while Hoover was more hesitant to let government intervene.  The programs he launched such as the National Credit Corporation, the Reconstruction Finance Corporation, and the Emergency Relief and Construction Act <span>came late to do any good.  Upon assuming office, Roosevelt quickly launched various programs to solve the problems.  In the end, Roosevelt was right in his approach of Government intervention because at the time,  people needed support to uplift their lives.</span>

As president, he was a negotiator and peace maker as demonstrated in his successful negotiation of the Russo-Japanese War (1905), for which he won the Nobel Peace Prize. He also played an important role in Progressive Era Reforms such as the Pure Food and Drug Act.
