Irrigation machinery has <u>quadrupled </u>the amount of irrigated land in the US.
Irrigation refers to the act of artificially providing water to land to support the development of crops. It is an antiquated agrarian system and may have been honed as ahead of schedule as 5000 B.C. along the banks of such consistently flooding streams as the Nile.
