\bf \begin{cases}
\boxed{y}=-\frac{1}{3}x+2\\\\
x=2y+6
\end{cases}
\\\\\\
\textit{using substitution on the \underline{2nd equation}}
\\\\\\
x=2\left( \boxed{-\frac{1}{3}x+2} \right)+6\implies x=-\cfrac{2x}{3}+4+6\implies x=-\cfrac{2x}{3}+10
\\\\\\
x=\cfrac{-2x+30}{3}\implies 3x=-2x+30\implies 5x=30
\\\\\\
x=\cfrac{30}{5}\implies \boxed{x=6}

and since we know now what "x", let's use that in either equation, say the first equation,

\bf y=-\cfrac{1}{3}x+2\implies y=-\cfrac{1}{3}(6)+2\implies y=-2+2\implies y=0

another way to do it is by "elimination", depending on the equations, one way may work quicker than the other, in this case, substitution was the simpler one, because the first equation is already solved for "y", so we just grabbed it and plugged it in the 2nd equation.

There are a few ways.
(1) Substitution
(2) Elimination
(3) Graphing
(4) Different methods using matrices such as putting an augmented matrix into row echelon form or using Cramer's Rule or using the inverse matrix.

Find the area of the shaded regions:
White raven [17]

Answer:

41 Degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

So basically you add the 72 and the other 72 to get 148.You obviously know the angle in between 72 and 72 is a right angle or 90 degrees.Then you add 148 and 90 to get 238.Then 360 - 238 is 122.Now you know all the angles.So we have to ask ourselves what is 148/360 simplified.It is 37/90.Now that we know that and we know that the radius is 10.We have to find the regular area which is 10 times 10 which is 100.Finally we need to figure out what part of 100 is 37/90 and it is 41.111111111111.Rounded it is 41.

What is the quotient?
Aleksandr [31]

Answer:

(A)4X10^{12}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the quotient:

\dfrac{6*10^8}{1.5*10^{-4}}

To evaluate, we first separate the given expression as follows.

=\dfrac{6}{1.5}X\dfrac{10^8}{10^{-4}}

Next, we apply the division law of indices to the powers of 10.

Division Law of Indices: \frac{a^x}{a^y}=a^{x-y}

=4X10^{8-(-4)}\\=4X10^{8+4}\\=4X10^{12}

Therefore, our quotient is 4X10^{12}.

The correct answer is A.
