Why did Beowulf want a funeral pyre?

Beowulf's body is taken to Hronesness, where his funeral pyre is burned and his funeral mound is constructed. The mound is filled with the treasure that Beowulf won from the dragon and all of the Geats gather around to lament the death of their lord.

He wanted a funeral pyre so he could fill it with his treasures ;)

Wheatley uses the repetition of the word storm, to clarify and reinforce the idea that the American Army under the leadership of George Washington is one of a brutal, unstoppable physical force. The image brought about by the idea of a tempest is a completely uncontrollable and menacing force.
