Hypothalamus is responsible for homeostasis, such as temperature, thirst, drives and circadian rhythms. It helps mediate physical expression and sensations of emotions, or simply called limbic influence. It also functions for endocrine regulation and autonomic regulation. It has several circumventricular organs and neuroendocrine neurons making it unique.
