It's about the science of predictions that says how the world will be in future . Then, there's also Statistics that also shows the way our world is evolving. Thirdly, forecasting has equal importance in doing that, like town population graphs or cow growth rate. All these use graphs and ratios in order to get a visual information about our enquiries, be it in Medicine, Biology, the Earth movement or the Universe.
