This is false - imperialism wasn't the name given to the idea that Americans should expand across the nation to the Pacific Coast. Imperialism referred to the idea that one nation expands over its borders in the desire of improving its economic standing by exploiting the nation to which it's expanding.

No, it is false that Imperialism was the name given to the idea that Americans should expand across the nation to the Pacific Coast, since what you're referring to was known as "Manifest Destiny".

Why were europeans interested in exploration in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries answers?
natita [175]
Europeans wanted exploration in the 15th and 16th centuries for the belief that there was emense wealth in undiscovered countries. For example, king Ferdinand and queen Isabella of Spain sent Christopher Columbus on an exploration to find gold or other precious metals. When he landed in America, he didn't find gold but he knew he'd be punished for returning empty handed so came up with the idea to enslave indigineous people as an alternative form of wealth
