The correct sequence for the development of Hinduism is:

• The Bhagavad Gita was written

The Bhagavad Gita was written between 400 BCE and 200 CE. The authorship of the Bhagavad Gita is not clear. The credit for The Bhagavad Gita is given to a man named Vyasa.

• The Harappa civilization declined

Around 1900 BCE it was clear that this civilization was going to disappear, and in 1700 BCE most of the cities were almost empty. Recent examination of human skeletons demonstrated that the end of this civilization saw an increase in violence and infectious diseases

• A rigid caste system developed

The caste system started taking place during the collapse of the Mughal era and the British colonial regime in India. After the fall of the Mughal era, powerful men associated themselves with kings, priests and ascetics. The British Raj agreed on this development, making caste organization a central mechanism. Between 1860 and 1920, the British separated Indians by caste.

• Society was divided into four varnas

• Brahmins: priests, scholars and teachers.

• Kshatriyas: rulers, warriors and administrators.

• Vaishyas: agriculturalists and merchants.

• Shudras: laborers and service providers.

The excavations revealed that the Harappan civilization decline occurred between 1800 BC to 1700 BC. The Aryans were the next settlers of the area.

Around 1200 BC a rigid caste system was developed in India. Hindus were divided into four different social groups or varnas according to their roles and skills:

The intellectual and spiritual leaders belonged to Brahmin caste; the public servants belonged to Kshatriyas caste; producers were in the Kshatriyas group; laborers with no skill were in the Shudras group.

As for the Bhagavad Gita was written between 400 BC and 200 AD. It is said to be written by a man named Vyasa. It includes 700 verses in Sanskrit and it’s part of the Hindu epic Mahabharata.
