This word means, in English: “persons leave the stage”. This is called a stage direction and it was often used in many of Shakespeare´s end of acts. However, it is still a command that is used contemporarily, for example in the works of Samuel Beckett. Stage directions are meant to be interpreted and how exactly are they followed depends on the intentions of the play´s director.
