Most definitely the third choice, "high self-esteem helps in resisting peer pressure." The reason this is true is because when you have high self-esteem, you most likely have a good reason for it, such as having an ego for positive (or negative) reasons, having good friends, etc. If someone has high self-esteem they most likely make a lot of their own decisions, therefore making it much easier to tune out and resist peer-pressure.
