Why has macbeth been adapted so many times

English

Macbeth has been adapted so many times for the same reason why all Shakespeare's plays have been adapted so many times. It is because they are not bound to a single point in time and by changing temporal details it can be applicable to any society at any time. The theme that is "power corrupts" has been ever present and this is why it keeps getting adapted.

Both parties deprecated war; but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive; and the other would accept war r
melisa1 [442]

The sentence is drawing a parallel between the two parties' reasons for going to war. Each of them is associated with a verb: one with "survive," the other with "perish." They are the two antonyms.

Antonyms are words which have opposite meanings. Survive means to contine living, and perish means to stop living.

What Lincoln meant by using this antonym-based parallelism is that the Confederacy fought to end the exisiting nation (meaning, to secede from the North and create a new nation), while the Union fought to keep the nation alive by preventing it from splitting.

How does the use of imagery and figurative language affect the poem?the cremation of sam mcgee
boyakko [2]

I’ve never read the book but if you have this may help. Figurative language and the use of imagery makes the book come alive. It allows the reader to visualize the authors story as if it were a picture or movie. Imagery is using the 5 senses (taste ,touch ,hear ,smell , & sight) to give the audience a vivid picture of the story they are reading.
