Write a compare-and-contrast analysis in 150 words or more of how Greg Ridley from "The Treasure of Lemon Brown" changes from th
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

In Walter Dean Myers' story "The Treasure of Lemon Brown," Greg's perspective on himself and the world changes. Greg's perspective changes before, during, and after meeting Lemon Brown. Before the event, Greg was enraged with his life. As he walked away from his house, frustrated with his father, he said, "The dark sky, filled with angry, swirling clouds, reflected Greg Ridley's mood," Afraid of his father, school, and himself, Greg fled that night. During the event, Greg began to think about his father and appreciate more things in his life.

“His father has been a postal worker all Greg's life,” Greg thought as he sat on the couch, looking out the window. But when Greg reflected, he realized how much his father has done for him and began to appreciate him. After that, Greg began to value his life and his father. Gregory thought to himself during their conversation: "He had seen the man picking through trash and pulling clothes out of the Salvation Army box." He did not appreciate what he had before meeting Lemon Brown, but he started to appreciate more after meeting him.

Although Greg has had many different perspectives on his life and his father, he has had many difficulties in his emotions such as anger, disapproval, and approval. I have learned to be grateful for what I have rather than what I do not because there are people who have nothing.
