You walk 1/2 of a mile more than your friend . You find this out by subtracting how far you go from how far your friend goes but you have to have a common denominator so you multiply your denominator by 2 to get 6 and then you must multiply to the top what you multiplied for he bottom so you get 4/6. 4/6-1/6 gives you 3/6 which simplifies to 1/2
0.05n + 0.25q = 3.80....I just used the variables (n) for nickels and (q) for quarters....but u could use x and y if u want to. But if u do this, be sure and label ur variables
