Answer:

What is the difference between Metaphase 1 and Metaphase 2? In Metaphase I, the 'pairs of chromosomes' are arranged on the Metaphase plate while, in the Metaphase II, the 'chromosomes' are arranged on the metaphase plate. In Metaphase I, the spindle fibers get attached to two centromeres of each homologous chromosome.

In metaphase 1 the pairs of chromosomes referred to as bivalents are totally condensed. Moreover the in metaphase 1 of meiosis there is no centromere division whereas in metaphase of mitosis it does. They align on the metaphase plate in between the poles.

Before replication can take place.(1) A. DNA polymerases must add complementary nucleotides to DNA. B. the two strands of DNA mu
andriy [413]

Answer:

The correct answer is B. the two strands of DNA must separate.

Explanation:

DNA is a double-stranded structure. The two strands are joined together by the formation of hydrogen bonds between complementary nucleotides. So before the replication takes place these two strands must be separated.

The separation of DNA strand is accomplished by the action of a helicase enzyme which breaks the hydrogen bond between complementary nucleotides and separated the two DNA strands.

After separation, the DNA polymerase binds to separated DNA and replicating the DNA. So the right answer is B.

kherson [118]
Virus: an infective agent that typically consists of a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat, is too small to be seen by light microscopy, and is able to multiply only within the living cells of a host.
Bacteria: a member of a large group of unicellular microorganisms which have cell walls but lack organelles and an organized nucleus, including some which can cause disease.
Fungi/fungus: any of a group of spore-producing organisms feeding on organic matter, including molds, yeast, mushrooms, and toadstools.
Protozoa: a phylum or group of phyla that comprises the single-celled microscopic animals, which include amoebas, flagellates, ciliates, sporozoans, and many other forms. They are now usually treated as a number of phyla belonging to the kingdom Protista.
