One of the famous lines from Les Miserables song is “ To love another person is to see the face of god”. I think the context in this film and its characters  is that since they all lead such difficult lives the only thing they have is “love”. It is the. closest thing to go that we have to god. In the song before that part it says “Take my love For love is everlasting And remember The truth that once was spoken To love another person”. I believe that Fantine saying this also gives context to the film. The love that Valjean had for had for Cosette is also considered the face of god because she changed his life. And in return she loved him back as a father since he also changed her life for the better.

Why do you think group of people tend to mistreat those who stand as individuals?
Goshia [24]

I think that it depends on each person's political, social, and moral perspectives. For instance, a h*mophobic person would consider an openly lesbian couple as wrong and disgusting, but a drag queen would welcome them as a member of society. This is more of a philosophical question.

Short answer: Each individual is viewed differently from people's perspectives because of political, social, and moral perspectives.
