Answer:

Find the median (the middle number).

Find both the upper and lower quartile.

Then subtract the upper quartile from the lower quartile and you get the fianl answer.

For example:

1, 12, 16, 23, 34, 54, 72

median: 23

lower quartile: 12

upper quartile: 54

(IQR) interquartile range: 54 - 12 = 42

We get the interquartile range of 42.

F(x) = 3x + 9, g(x) = 5x2<br><br> Find (f + g)(x).
maxonik [38]
(f-g)(x) is a shorthand way of saying that you need to get the difference of the two functions: f(x) and g(x). so essentially, (f-g)(x) = f(x) - g(x) = 5x+2 - (-3x+4) = 8x-2 (f/g)(-2) = f(-2)/g(-2) = -4/5 or -0.8 Hope this helps.

Write the equation in point slope form for a line that passes through the points (-2,3) and (6,-1)
diamong [38]

Answer:

y - 3 = -1/2(x + 2)

General Formulas and Concepts:

<u>Pre-Algebra</u>

  • Order of Operations: BPEMDAS

<u>Algebra I</u>

Slope Formula: m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Point-Slope Form: y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

  • x₁ - x coordinate
  • y₁ - y coordinate
  • m - slope

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define</u>

Point (-2, 3)

Point (6, -1)

<u>Step 2: Find slope </u><em><u>m</u></em>

  1. Substitute:                    m=\frac{-1-3}{6+2}
  2. Subtract/Add:               m=\frac{-4}{8}
  3. Simplify:                        m=\frac{-1}{2}

<u>Step 3: Write linear equation</u>

Point-Slope Form:   y - 3 = -1/2(x + 2)
