A production method in which parts (generally interchangeable parts) are reckoned as the semi-finished machine proceeds from workstation to workstation wherever the pieces are affixed in course until the ultimate assembly is manufactured is known as an assembly line. By mechanically departing the parts to the assembly operation and running the semi-finished machine from job location to job location, a finished commodity can be constructed quicker and with more limited labor than by owning operators carry pieces to a motionless piece for construction.
