The volume of the rectangular prism is

l \times b \times h =112 cm^3

Let the scale factor be

k

If we multiply each of the dimensions by k, then we have,

lk, bk, hk

as our new dimensions

Then the new volume is

lbh \times k^3 = 1.75 cm^3

But

lbh = 112 cm^3

\Rightarrow 112 \times k^3 = 1.75 cm^3

\Rightarrow k^3 =\frac{1.75}{112}

\Rightarrow k^3 =\frac{1}{64}

\Rightarrow k=\sqrt(\frac{1}{64})

\Rightarrow k=\frac{1}{8}

Hence the scale factor is

\frac{1}{8}

Domain is the set of x-values that can be inputted into function f(x).

We see that our x-values span from -1 to 4. Since -1 is an open dot, it is not included in our domain:

The triangular prism shown below is 6 cm wide and 4 cm deep. The vertical height is 7 cm. What is the length of the side edge, s
Anna007 [38]
Width: w=6 cm
Depth: d=4 cm
Height: h=7 cm
Side edge: s=?

s=sqrt [ (w/2)^2+h^2 ]
s=sqrt [ (6 cm / 2)^2+(7 cm)^2]
s=sqrt[ (3 cm)^2 + 49 cm^2 ]
s=sqrt (9 cm^2+49 cm^2)
s=sqrt (58 cm^2)
s=sqrt(58) cm
s=7.615773106 cm
s=7.6 cm

Answer: <span>The length of the side edge, s, of the triangular prism is 7.6 cm</span>
