Answer: D). Most rocks are a mixture of minerals

Rocks are the natural substances these are the aggregate of one or more number of minerals. These minerals are responsible for chemical and physical nature of rocks. These are responsible for type of particles, texture of particles and overall rock structure. Example of rock having mineral aggregate is granite which is a combination of minerals like quartz, biotite and feldspar.

Rocks are a mixture of minerals (D).

Further Explanation:

Minerals are made up of large element, most elements are simple substances that can not breakdown into any other substance.

Most common example of minerals are Na,Si,Cl etc.

For example, SiO4 mineral contains large amount of element

Rocks are aggregates of minerals, rocks are major of three types:

 • Igneous Rocks
 • Sedimentary Rocks
 • Metamorphic Rocks

Igneous rocks are created when lava cools down and solidify in rock.

The metamorphic rocks are made by the subjection of igneous rocks and sedimentary rocks under high pressure and temperature.

The sedimentary rocks are created by continuous deposition of minerals, earlier rocks, and animal.

Example of igneous rocks are granite and made up of a mixture of element example SiO2 and Al2O3.

Examples of sedimentary rocks are breccias and siltstone and of metamorphic rocks are marbles.

yKpoI14uk [10]

Declining krill populations will have catastrophic consequences for ecosystem homeostasis and it will increase the levels of phytoplankton.

What is ecosystem homeostasis?

The term ecosystem homeostasis makes reference to the state of equilibrium between different species in an ecosystem.

Krill are fundamental primary consumers in aquatic environments and they eat autotrophic phytoplankton.

In conclusion, declining krill populations will have catastrophic consequences for ecosystem homeostasis and it will increase the levels of phytoplankton.

Which of the following best explains how the light reactions of photosynthesis generate ATP?
frutty [35]

Answer:

B. A proton gradient drives the formation of ATP from ADP and inorganic phosphate via ATP synthase.

Explanation:

Light reaction of photosynthesis includes the splitting of water in the presence of sunlight and electron transfer from PSII to PSI via an electron transport system. During the transfer of electron through cytochrome of the electron transport system, the proton concentration gradient is generated across thylakoids. The proton concentration gradient is harvested to drive ADP phosphorylation by the catalytic site of ATP synthase accompanied by downhill movement protons through its proton channels.
