Number 5 ABC or D? Please help
RoseWind [281]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

you want to solve it out

start with multiplying z to each. you don't multiply it to the 6 because it is in the same parenthesis set, but you multiply it to everything in the other set.  After multiplying, you get: 2z^3 , 3z^{2} , 5z

now do that to the 6. After multiplying you get:  12z^{2}, 18z, 30

now set it all next to each other 2z^3 + 3z^{2} + 5z + 12z^{2} + 18z + 30

now combine like terms. start with the to the highest power. since there is only one that has a third power, you put that one first. then you combine the squared ones, and so forth.

work combining the squares: 3z^{2} + 12z^{2} = 15z^{2}

work combing the single z's: 5z + 18z = 23z

to get this:  2z^3 + 15z^{2} + 23z + 30

so, the answer is D

Find the value of x. The diagram is not to scale.
snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

72

Step-by-step explanation:

If we look at the smaller triangle, it has side lengths of 31, 36 and 43. Since those measurements are given again on part of the bigger triangle, we can conclude that the smaller triangle has been dilated by a scale factor of 2 to get the bigger triangle. Using this, we can multiply 36 by 2 to get our answer of 72.

Mr Sanchez has 16 feet of fencing to put around a rectangular garden. He wants the garden to have the greater possible area. How
nata0808 [166]
Let's use some examples. So what can you make with 16? You can make 1 and 15, 2 and 14, etc.

How about trying 1 and 15 first?
1*15 = 15
What about 2 and 14, 3 and 13, and 4 and 12?
2*14 = 28
3*13 = 39
4*12 = 48.

Now we notice a pattern-- the numbers keep getting bigger, right? So the closer you get to the middle, the bigger the area will get. So if we divide 16 by 2, we get 8. Let's try 8 and 8.

8*8 = 64

That's larger than 48! Now let's try a couple more to make sure.

9*7 = 63
10*6 = 60
11*5 = 55

Next time, you'll know that with one of these problems, the biggest area would be the two numbers closest to each other you can get. Hope this helps! :)
