Why isint 11/12 equivalent to 3/4? i need a simple answer that i can write on my work

If $\frac{11}{12}= \frac{3}{4}$ ⇒3*12=11*4 ⇒ 36=44 false
⇒ 11/12 isn't equal with 3/4

12 / 4 = 3.  That means that 3 lots of 4 go into 12.  If the 2 fractions are equivalent, then the numerator (the top number) for 3/4 times by 3 should equal the numerator for 11/12.  However, 3 X 3 = 9.  9/12 is not the same as 11/12.
