The correct answer is C.

Jack Roosevelt Robinson was the first African American to play in the major leagues. He became the target of vicious racial abuse. After he left baseball he became an advocate for the advancement of civil rights in America. He wrote letters to every president in office complaining about racial segregation and unfair treatment of black people.

He wrote the letter to President Roosevelt amid the controversy over school desegregation in Little Rock and the south of the country. The President reluctantly sent troops to enforce the school's segregation in Little Rock. Therefore, Robinson urged him to take immediate action in furthering equal rights for African Americans. He believed the President's actions were long overdue. He had grown very impatient with Eisenhower's failure to face up the facts about segregation and demanded the government's support of black people fighting for their rights.

One of the horses was given medication prior to _____ race.
Svetllana [295]
The correct answer is: "its"

Explanation:
The textbook definition defines noun as a person, place or a thing. Everything that does not belong to a person category assumes to in a "thing" category (if not places). The pronoun we use for anything that is not a person is "it." Here in this case, "one of the horses" phrase is used. A horse does not lie in the person's category. Therefore, we will use "it." In the case of possessive pronoun, the possessive form of "it" is "its." Therefore, the correct answer in this case is "its."

Ovid creates a tense situation, as Thisbe does not realize that
.
stepan [7]

Answer:

Ovid creates a tense situation as Thisbe does not realize that Pyramus is dying.

Explanation:

Ovid's "Pyramus and Thisbe" is a Babylonian love story that revolves around the two lovers, Pyramus and Thisbe. But the story turned tragic after Pyramus discovered a bloodied cloak that belonged to Thisbe and so killed himself.

In the given lines from the story, we can see Thisbe returning to meet Pyramus and tell him about the close escape she had with the lioness. Ovid creates a tense situation in this scene because we already know what Pyramus had done which Thisbe is not privy to.

So, Ovid creates a tense situation as Thisbe does not realize that her love Pyramus is dying.

Which sentence carries a neutral connotation?
steposvetlana [31]
Connotation is a commonly understood cultural or emotional association that some word or phrase carries, in addition to its explicit or literal meaning, which is its denotation.

A connotation is frequently described as either positive or negative, with regard to its pleasing or displeasing emotional connection. For example, a stubborn person may be described as being either strong-willed or pig-headed; although these have the same literal meaning (stubborn), strong-willed connotes admiration for the level of someone's will (a positive connotation), while pig-headedconnotes frustration in dealing with someone (a negative connotation).

What is the logical fallacy of the following statement...
Kaylis [27]
The logical fallacy can be deepened depending on your morals, but the logical fallacy is the world "should". This implies that living together before marriage is the only way that a marriage should work out, or that it is the "right" way. Both of those assumptions are false, because traditionally (typically the "right" way), couples would not live together before marriage, and many couples had their marriage work out perfectly without this.
