Two cars traveled equal distances in different amounts of time. Car A traveled the distance in 2 h, and Car B traveled the dista

nce in 1.5 h. Car B traveled 15 mph faster than Car A. How fast did Car B travel? (The formula R⋅T=D , where R is the rate of speed, T is the time, and D is the distance can be used.) Enter your answer for the box.

Recall your d = rt,  distance = rate * time.

notice, the distance are the same, say it was "d" miles.

and if car A is travelling at a speed of say "r" mph, then B is going at "r+15" mph.

\bf \begin{array}{lccclll}
&\stackrel{miles}{distance}&\stackrel{mph}{rate}&\stackrel{hours}{time}\\
&------&------&------\\
\textit{Car A}&d&r&2\\
\textit{Car B}&d&r+15&1.5
\end{array}
\\\\\\
\begin{cases}
\boxed{d}=2r\\
d=1.5(r+15)\\
----------\\
\boxed{2r}=1.5(r+15)
\end{cases}
\\\\\\
2r=1.5r+22.5\implies 0.5r=22.5\implies r=\cfrac{22.5}{0.5}\implies \boxed{r=\stackrel{mph}{45}}

how far is B going?  well, r + 15.

So, the equation is y=mx + b and you want to solve for b to find the y intercept.
-5=2(4) + b
-5=8+b
subtract the 8
-13=b
the equation is y = 2x - 13

The net of a rectangular prism is shown below. What is the total surface area of the rectangular prism represented by this net?
Finger [1]

Answer:

150.88 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

A rectangular prism also known as cuboid is a three dimensional object with six rectangular faces and eight vertices. It is a prism because it has the same cross section along the length. It is called a rectangular prism because its cross section is rectangular.

The opposite faces of a rectangular prism are equal to each other.

The total surface area (TSA) of a rectangular prism is:

TSA = 2(wl + wh + lh)

where w is the width of the base, l is the length of the base and h is the height of the prism.

From the question, we can see that:

w = 5 cm, l = 7.4 cm and h = 3.1 cm. therefore:

TSA = 2(wl + wh + lh) = 2[(5 * 7.4) + (5 * 3.1) + (7.4 * 3.1)] = 2(37 + 15.5 + 22.94)

TSA = 2(75.44)

TSA = 150.88 cm²
