Stimulus discrimination happens if two stimuli are adequately particular from each other that one inspires a molded reaction yet alternate does not. It also gives the capacity to separate between stimuli. For instance, your dog comes running into the kitchen when she hears the sound of the electric can opener, which she has learned is utilized to open her canine sustenance when her supper is going to be served. She doesn't bound into the kitchen at the sound of the nourishment processor, despite the fact that it sounds comparable. As it were, she separates between the stimuli.

What were two aspects of Wegener's continental drift hypothesis that were objectionable to most Earth scientists?
gtnhenbr [62]

Alfred Wegener had two flaws with his initial hypothesis. They are as follows:

i) Gravitational forces of the moon and sun, and tidal forces act as the mechanism to move the continents across the globe.

ii) Larger and sturdier continents broke through thinner oceanic crust like boat cutting through a thin layer of sea ice.

<u>Explanation</u>:

Alfred Lothar Wegener was a great meteorologist and German polar researcher. He was commonly known for his <u>“theory of continental drift”. </u>

In this theory, they proposed an idea that the continents were slowly drifting around the Earth. Many researchers objected his view. But he provided many evidence to support his continental drift hypothesis.

Some of the evidences are: Continental jigsaw puzzle, Fossils match across the seas, Rock types and geologic features and Ancient Climates.

Consider 3 urns. Urn A contains 2 white and 4 red balls, urn B contains 8 white and 4 red balls, and urn C contains 1 white and
elixir [45]

Answer:0.636

Explanation:

Given

Urn A contains 2 W, 4 R

Urn B contains 8 W, 4 R

Urn C contains 1 W,  3 R

Probability of selecting 3 balls out of which 2 are white

P(J)=P(WWR)+P(WRW)+P(RWW)

P(J)=\frac{2}{6}\cdot \frac{8}{12}\cdot \frac{3}{4}+\frac{2}{6}\cdot \frac{4}{12}\cdot \frac{1}{4}+\frac{4}{6}\cdot \frac{8}{12}\cdot \frac{1}{4}=\frac{88}{288}

Probability that the ball chosen from Urn A was white given that exactly 2 white balls  were selected

i.e.

P(A/J)=\frac{P\left ( A\cap J\right )}{P\left ( J\right )}

P(A/J)=\frac{\frac{56}{288}}{\frac{88}{288}}=0.636
