Max wakes up at 7:00am. It take him 10 minutes to get dressed, and 5 minutes to eat breakfast. The bus will pick up max at 7:40am. How much time will max have before the bus picks him up? Use a number line that is divide otp a 5 minutes segments to find the answer.

Add the minutes to the initial time: 7:00 + 10 minutes + 7 minutes + 5 minutes = 7:22
He will be ready to board the bus at 7:22.
Subtract this time from the time the bus is schedule to pick him up: 7:40 - 7:22 = 18
Max will have 18 minutes before the bus picks him up.
