These three groups are what people in business identify as the target market or target audience. Further, since the farmer has divided the target market according to their interests, he has developed his own market segmentation, which would allow him during his marketing campaign to more specifically address each of the individual groups concerns and selling points.

What role do you think Netflix and social media
Aleksandr [31]

Netflix and social media  played an important role in popularizing Marie Kondo.

Yes, Netflix and social media  played an important role in popularizing Marie Kondo because the program of Marie Kondo is viewed by million of people across the world through the Netflix and social media and people are loving it which increase the popularity of Marie Kondo.

In my opinion the popularity of the show "Tidying up with Marie  Kondo' is based on Marie Kondo only because the people know the method through this program and in my knowledge there is no one that achieve the same result so we can conclude that Netflix and social media  played an important role in popularizing Marie Kondo.

To record the distribution of the stock dividend

July 29:

Treasury Stock                                $17,000

Cash Account                                                      $45,900

To record the repurchase of 1,700 shares of treasury stock at $27 each.

Nov. 27:

Cash Dividend                                $2,980

Dividend Payable                                                 $2,980

To record the declaration of a $0.10 per share cash dividend on 29,800 common stock shares outstanding

b. Retained Earnings Statement for the year ended December 31, 2016:

Retained Earnings b/f       $161,000

Dividends (stock)                 (15,000)

Dividends (cash)                   (2,980)

Ending balance

c. Stockholders' Equity Section of the Balance Sheet at December 31, 2016:

Paid-in Capital:

Common Stock—$10 Par Value; 350,000 shares

authorized, 31,500 shares issued and outstanding :  $315,000

Treasury Stock, 1,700 shares                                           (17,000)

Paid-ln Capital in Excess of Par—Common                    281,100

Total Paid-in Capital                                                        579,100

Retained Earnings                                                          143,020

Total Stockholders' Equity                                          $722,120

Explanation:

a) Stock Dividend:  5% of stock outstanding was 1,500 (30,000 x 5%).  The effect of the stock dividend is to increase the Common Stock shares from 30,000 to 31,500 shares.  This is also reflected in the Common Stock account at the par value of $10, totalling $15,000 (1,500 x $10).  This is because the market value of $27 per share does not involve any cash flows for the entity, but an inflow for the stockholders who decide to sell their shares at that point.  The Retained Earnings is also reduced by $15,000, just as it is in the case of cash dividend.

b) Paid-in Capital in Excess of Par:

beginning balance     $310,000

Treasury stock             (28,900)

ending balance          $281,100

This account reflects the changes in Treasury stock above and below the par values.  It is also used to record the above and below the par values when shares are issued.

c) Treasury Stock:  This is a contra account to the Common Stock.  It records the repurchase of entity's own stock.  Two methods are allowed for accounting for treasury stock.  One is the par value method, where the differences in par value are recorded in the Paid-in Capital in Excess of Par.  The other method is the costing method, where the differences in par value are recorded in the Treasury stock account.

const2013 [10]

Answer: 1. A. China in Zambia

B. Increased Market Share

Explanation:

A. China in Zambia

For years now many have worried about Chinese influence in China and what they view as subtle attempts by China to engage in modern day Colonialism through methods such as Predatory Loaning practices.

One glaring example is that of Zambia.

There are several ways in which the Chinese have established a foothold in Zambia and are making the country lose its sovereignty and national culture.

1. Loans for Infrastructure

China has invested massively in Zambia which is a big Copper exporter to enable them mine and capture the Copper that Zambia has for use in production in China. In the last 6 years, Zambia has embarked on over 29 projects all funded by about $9 billion in Chinese loans. With such loans being owed, the amount of Chinese influence will be great.

2. Small Scale Entrepreneurs

Chinese people have emigrated to Zambia in droves and some of them have started street level businesses also called Chinese Shops where they sell every day goods ranging from AA batteries to bicycles. These put pressure and compete with local Entrepreneurs who might not be able to get those goods as cheaply as the Chinese can from China. This as well as the importation of Chinese goods and services to feed the Chinese people involved has led to Zambian adopting Chinese foods and goods for themselves as well.

3. Political Interference

With such a huge investment in Zambia, many have noted with concern that China often meddles in the politics of the Southern African nations by picking candidates that will be more friendly to their Economic aspirations. This directly leads to a loss of sovereignty as well as an erosion in the independence of the national culture.

2. Oligopolies refer to firms that exist in an industry that has very few competitors and with the less competitions have a chance to make huge profits. Getting into the industries they operate in can be quite difficult due to high start-up costs as well as already well established competition. These include industries like the Motor and Aeroplane manufacturing industries.

As a result of Globalization, these companies have spread across the globe and as they are already established, they have the unique opportunity to charge less for their goods due to Economies of Scale. This allowed them to discourage local manufacturers in the newer companies they came to which could not hope to compete with such giants. This enabled the Oligopolies to capture the market share that the local competitors gave up thereby increasing the market share of these Oligopolies and by extension their Profitability.
