Google's Answer: On review of the case, the Supreme Court in Worcester v. Georgia ruled that because the Cherokee Nation was a separate political entity that could not be regulated by the state, Georgia's license law was unconstitutional and Worcester's conviction should be overturned.

Edgenuity's Answer:  In Worcester v. Georgia, the Supreme Court ruled that the Cherokee and other tribes were sovereign nations. This meant that the federal government and state governments did not have jurisdiction over their lands. The ruling gave the Cherokee the legal right to rule over their lands without interference. However, the ruling was largely ignored by Georgia and the federal government. The Cherokee tribe was still removed from its lands, and Georgia continued to promote settlement and place restrictions on citizens who lived on Cherokee lands.
