Answer: x = 5

Justification:

Realize that this two points are one directly (vertically) over the other.

This is they define a vertical line which is a line parallel to the y-axis.

That means that the line has a constant value of x, I mean the value of x is the same for every y.

The equations of this kind of lines is x = constant, and the constant, as you can notice, is the value of x which is 5 for both points.

So, the answer is x = 5.

As you see, this relation is not a function, because given the value of y you cannot know the value of x (there are infinite y-values that meet the condition x = 5).

The infinite geometric series S=1+( 2/3 )+( 2/3 )^ 2 +( 2/3 )^ 3 .... equal to:
weqwewe [10]

SOLUTION

The question simply means that we should find the sum to infinity of the geometric series.

The formula of sum to infinity of a geometric serie is given by

S_{\infty}=\frac{a}{1-r}

Where

\begin{gathered} S_{\infty}\text{ is the sum to infinity} \\  \\ a\text{ is the first term = 1} \\  \\ r\text{ is the common ratio = }\frac{2}{3} \end{gathered}

So, this becomes

\begin{gathered} S_{\infty}=\frac{a}{1-r} \\  \\ S_{\infty}=\frac{1}{1-\frac{2}{3}} \\  \\ S_{\infty}=\frac{1}{\frac{3-2}{3}} \\  \\ S_{\infty}=\frac{1}{\frac{1}{3}} \\  \\ S_{\infty}=3 \end{gathered}

Therefore, option b is the correct answer

Last year, the mean running time for a certain type of light bulb was 8.5 hours. This year, the manufacturer has introduced a ch
Free_Kalibri [48]

Answer:

H0 : μ = 8.5

H1 : μ > 8.5

1 sample t test ;

Test statistic = 2.53

Pvalue = 0.994

No, we fail to reject the Null ;

There is no significant evidence to support the Claim that the mean running time of light bulb is greater Tha last year.

Step-by-step explanation:

H0 : μ = 8.5

H1 : μ > 8.5

Test statistic :

(xbar - μ) ÷ (s/sqrt(n))

(8.7 - 8.5) ÷ (0.5 / sqrt40)

Test statistic = 2.53

The Pvalue :

P(Z < 2.53) = 0.9943

Pvalue = 0.994

Decison region :

Reject H0 ; if Pvalue < α

0.9943 > 0.05 ; We fail to reject the Null

How do I write the sum of 6x and 2x is at least 39 ?
tatiyna
<h2>Put x = \dfrac{39}{8} I write the sum of 6x and 2x is at least 39 .</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

We have,,

6x and 2x

To find, the value of x = ?

According to question,

The sum of 6x and 2x is at least 39

∴ 6x + 2x = 39

⇒ 8x = 39

⇒  x = \dfrac{39}{8}

∴ The value of x = \dfrac{39}{8}

Thus, put x = \dfrac{39}{8} I write the sum of 6x and 2x is at least 39 .

(2x + 3) - (-8 - 2x)
masha68 [24]

Answer: 4x+11

Step-by-step explanation: Distribute the negative to the -8 and -2x. This will make 2x+3+8+2x. Combine like terms and you will get 4x+11. Hope this helps!
