- M. Ridge had made his mark on the Treaty of New Echota, which made some decision over that matter. That is why the Tribe was divided bitterly. Moreover, J. Ross and majority of the Cherokee Council did not approved or was against this treaty, having them as leaders of opposite view points.
It is possible that in time they could find forgiveness in their hearts for their enemies. They would probably never forget but it is possible to forgive.
