How do I️ graph y+2x=3

Mathematics
1 answer:
algol [13]4 years ago
6 0
Y + 2x = 3....put this in y = mx + b form by subtracting 2x from both sides
y = -2x + 3

so u have a slope of -2 and a y int of 3 or (0,3)

ur x int can be found by subbing in 0 for y and solving for x
y + 2x = 3
0 + 2x = 3
2x = 3
x = 3/2 or 1.5....so ur x int is (1.5,0)

so go ahead and plot ur intercepts (1.5,0) and (0,3).....and since u have a slope of -2, start at (0,3)....come down 2 spaces, then go right 1 space....plot that...then down 2 and to the right 1...plot that...keep doing this and u should cross the x axis at (1.5,0)....then connect ur plotted points and u have ur line.

How do I solve this problem
mestny [16]
Because you are solving to find the total amount and you were given that the tax is 8% you’d do $999 times 0.08 and you’d get $79.92 and then you’d add $79.92 to $999 to find the total amount charge to his card and you’d get $1078.92

What is the product? Enter your answer as a fraction, in simplified form, in the box. 38⋅(−36)
valina [46]
If you multiply 38*(-36) you would get -1368. And to convert that into a fraction it could be -1368/1, -13680/10, etc.

Find the limit, if it exists. (If an answer does not exist, enter DNE.) lim (x, y) → (0, 0) x4 − 34y2 x2 + 17y2
HACTEHA [7]

Answer:

<h2>DNE</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the limit of the function \lim_{(x,y) \to (0,0)} \frac{x^4-34y^2}{x^2+17y^2}, to find the limit, the following steps must be taken.

Step 1: Substitute the limit at x = 0 and y = 0 into the function

= \lim_{(x,y) \to (0,0)} \frac{x^4-34y^2}{x^2+17y^2}\\=  \frac{0^4-34(0)^2}{0^2+17(0)^2}\\= \frac{0}{0} (indeterminate)

Step 2: Substitute y = mx int o the function and simplify

= \lim_{(x,mx) \to (0,0)} \frac{x^4-34(mx)^2}{x^2+17(mx)^2}\\\\= \lim_{(x,mx) \to (0,0)} \frac{x^4-34m^2x^2}{x^2+17m^2x^2}\\\\\\= \lim_{(x,mx) \to (0,0)} \frac{x^2(x^2-34m^2)}{x^2(1+17m^2)}\\\\\\= \lim_{(x,mx) \to (0,0)} \frac{x^2-34m^2}{1+17m^2}\\

= \frac{0^2-34m^2}{1+17m^2}\\\\=  \frac{34m^2}{1+17m^2}\\\\

<em>Since there are still variable 'm' in the resulting function, this shows that the limit of the function does not exist, Hence, the function DNE</em>
