According to the distribution, we have 12+20 teenagers who have fewer than 3 pairs of shoes in their closets.

The total number of teenagers surveyed are 100 (add all frequencies).

Hence the required probability is:

$ \frac{12+20}{100}=\frac{32}{100}=0.32$

Alternatively, add the respective probabilities like so:

$P_{fewer \: than \: 3}=0.12+0.20=0.32$

Answer:

Probability is 1/5 in fraction form or .2 in decimal form

Step-by-step explanation:

The probability section of the chart uses the frequency, and divides it by 100, aka turns it into a percent. Therefore, P being probability, P = .2 or 1/5

Hope this helps

btw, it’s not 25 pts, but no problem.

1/3y+1/4=5/12<br> Can someone give me easy steps for this
Liula [17]
  1) Set the equation equal to 0.
In order to do that, subtract 5/12 on both sides of the equation. Now you have 1/3y-1/6=0. If you need just an equation, there it is. If you need to go farther to find y, continue to step two.
  2) Now get the variable by itself.
Add 1/6 to both sides. Now you have 1/3y=1/6.
  3) Now divide 1/3y by both sides- but wait- it's a fraction.
So you have to multiply by the reciprocal which means multiply by 3 to both sides in this case.

So y=1/2.
Hope that's right and that it helped!
