How will you set up a controlled experiment

Research is necessary to gather data that is used to formulate a hypothesis and to create the experiment.

Identify a problem. The problem is the question you are trying to answer. Without a problem, there is no reason for experimentation.

Formulate a hypothesis. The hypothesis is a statement, based on your research, that is intended to provide a solution to the problem. The hypothesis is what you are trying to prove or disprove.

Conduct your experiment to prove the hypothesis. A controlled science experiment is setup to test whether a variable has a direct causal relationship on another.

Identify your independent and dependent variables. The independent variable is commonly known as the cause, while the dependent variable is the effect. For example, in the statement A causes B, A is the independent variable and B is the dependent. A controlled scientific experiment can only measure one variable at a time. If more than one variable is manipulated, it is impossible to say for certain which caused the end result and the experiment is invalidated.

Do not alter your hypothesis midway through the experiment. The setup of a controlled scientific experiment must be constant. You can not make changes once you have begun, even if the results you are getting do not seem to support your original hypothesis. When you change your hypothesis, you change the entire experiment and you must begin again.

Do not be upset if your results are not what you expect. Some of the greatest scientific advances have come from experiments that disproved the original hypothesis.

Start over again with a new hypothesis or find new variables to manipulate. Scientific advancement is a painstakingly slow process and scientists often spend years and even an entire lifetime working on the same problem.

Which of the following is a pair of transgenic organisms?
stepan [7]

Answer:

The correct answer would be d) bacteria that make human insulin and a Bt corn plant.

An organism that contains and/or expresses a transgene or foreign gene is termed transgenic organism.

Bacteria that make human insulin contain and express human genes which code for A and B chain of insulin.

Similarly, Bt cotton is also a transgenic organism as it contains and expresses cry gene isolated from bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis. It provides pest resistance to the plant.

Thus, option d contains a pair of transgenic organisms.

Will give Brainliest within five minutes of answer - Why do we want to explore Mars more than the other planets/moons even thoug
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

After the Earth, Mars is the most habitable planet in our solar system due to several reasons:

Its soil contains water to extract

It isn’t too cold or too hot

There is enough sunlight to use solar panels

Gravity on Mars is 38% that of our Earth's, which is believed by many to be sufficient for the human body to adapt to

It has an atmosphere (albeit a thin one) that offers protection from cosmic and the Sun's radiation

The day/night rhythm is very similar to ours here on Earth: a Mars day is 24 hours, 39 minutes and 35 seconds

The only other two celestial bodies in orbits near the Earth are our Moon and Venus. There are far fewer vital resources on the Moon, and a Moon day takes a month. It also does not have an atmosphere to form a barrier against radiation. Venus is a veritable purgatory. The average temperature is over 400 degrees, the barometric pressure is that of 900 meters underwater on Earth, and the cherry on top comes in the form of occasional bouts of acid rain. It also has nights that last for 120 days. Humans cannot live on Mars without the help of technology, but compared to Venus it's paradise!

Additional info:

Mars is an obvious target for exploration because it is close by in our Solar System, but there are many more reasons to explore the Red Planet. The scientific reasons for going to Mars can be summarised by the search for life, understanding the surface and the planet’s evolution, and preparing for future human exploration.

Searching for life on Mars

Understanding whether life existed elsewhere in the Universe beyond Earth is a fundamental question of humankind. Mars is an excellent place to investigate this question because it is the most similar planet to Earth in the Solar System. Evidence suggests that Mars was once full of water, warmer and had a thicker atmosphere, offering a potentially habitable environment.
