Answer:

I think  <u>independent</u>  and  <u>brave</u> are the best adjectives to describe her.

Even being 22, Skeeter was her own person and went against what her family wanted her to do, and even the law. She chose her own path in life and in the very end of the book, she realized that she didn't have to live the life her parents thought she should lead, but instead, go her own way and travel to New York to become the serious writer she had always wanted to be. Her time spent with the women of the black community sculpted who she was and shed light on who she really should be.
