Answer:

Before the 1880s, most immigrants came from NORTHERN AND WESTERN EUROPE; after the 1880s, most immigrants came from SOUTHERN AND EASTERN EUROPE.

Explanation:

Before the 1880s , immigrants from northern and Western Europe migrated into the United States to search for greener pastures. These immigrants came from Ireland, Britain e.t.c.

These immigrants could purchase farmlands at a very low costs, therefore some of them were farmers. The rest of the immigrants possessed skills in making clothes, carpentry e.t.c.

After the 1880s, immigrants from countries like Russia, Canada, Italy which makes Southern and Eastern Europe migrated to America for better opportunities in terms of jobs, better housing and to escape poverty.

One of the major difficulties the immigrants from Southern and Eastern Europe faced when they came to America had to do with the languages they spoke. In order thrive in America, overcoming the language barrier was very important to these immigrants.

Congress can ________ a Presidential veto with a 2/3 majority vote. override reject veto table
USPshnik [31]

The correct answer is override a presidential veto.

In the US government, Congress is responsible for making national laws. After the bill has passed both houses of Congress (aka the House of Representatives and the Senate), the bill is then sent to the president to sign. However, the president can stop this bill from becoming law. This is known as a veto. If a president vetoes a law, it can still be passed without their signature. This requires a 2/3rd majority vote in both parts of Congress. If this happens, the bill becomes law.

Why did the Soviet Union aid and support Cuba
Andrew [12]

Answer:

To spread Communism

Explanation:

The Cubans were communists, and the main goal of the Soviet Union was to spread communism throughout the world, and although they made the policy of Detente (peaceful coexistence with the US and its allies), their main goal was to replace Communism with Capitalism.

However, there was also another goal. The US had stationed nukes in Turkey, and the Soviets were feeling really threatened. As a result, they wanted a Communist country that they could put nukes in.
