The first sentence is best filled in with "climate" - it's the most general characteristics of how warm it is in Hawaii, not only today.

In the second sentence, the situation is the opposite- it's only about the situation on that given day, so the answer should be "weather"

And about climate:

is predictable  (it depends on the longitude for example)

it occurs over a long period  (this is true!)

has a global impact (for example the climate change in the Amazon region also influences climate in other parts)
